Zaklepochnik - screwdriver attachment from Lomvum (new version)

A small review of the Chinese zaklepochnik second version, presented in the form of nozzles on the screwdriver, from the company Lomvum.
In short, the thing is undoubtedly comfortable anduseful in everyday life, but the truth was not without flaws. Using one hand just will not work, in this regard, manual versions look preferable.

In general, household tools of this kind canconventionally divided into two types, on hand (which in turn also consist of several groups) and on automatic (as a separate full-fledged, independent device and attachments for drills, screwdrivers). In this review, we will just talk about the last of them - the nozzle.

A few years ago, the Chinese introduced the firstThe version of this adapter is a riveter. I don’t know for sure if they came up with it themselves or, as usual, stole the idea or just copied it from someone else. But after a while, an updated model came out, the principle of operation of which remained the same, but the appearance has changed a lot. The photo below is a comparison of the old and the new model:

I went by parcel standard mail of China andgot to me in three weeks. The tool comes packaged in a branded plastic blister with the brand logo and Chinese characters. In addition to them, you can see useful information, for example, the working range: for rivets of the type from 2mm to 4.8mm in diameter.

Characteristics about the product itself can be found on the product page:

Components not to say that very scanty, init includes, in addition to the hero of the review, an Allen key, additional sponges, a handle and three interchangeable nozzles for different size of rivets. One of the nozzles had previously been screwed onto the riveter itself, but I unscrewed it with the supplied key to take a collective photo.

Three nozzles are suitable for four types of rivets with a diameter: 4.8mm, 4.0mm, 3.2mm and 2.0mm.

The adapter itself, unlike the first version, nowcompletely made of metal. It is made in bright orange color, in the form of such a small tube with a rotating shaft inside. On the front side, if you can call it that, there is the Lomvum brand logo and some inscription in Chinese.

On the side there is a special hole for screwing the handle. Its length is about 7cm.

The dimensions of the zaklepochnik itself are as follows: 16 cm long, 3.5 cm thick. It weighs without a handle - 361.1gr, with a handle - 383.6gr.

The working part is painted in silver and just like the case itself is made of metal. Replaceable nozzles for rivets are screwed into it with the help of a complete key.

If you look closely, you can unscrew not only the nozzle itself, but also this silver part. To do this, there are special cuts on both sides, under an adjustable wrench.

Next we have access to the insidemechanism "device." If desired, you can replace the sponge, the benefit is spare. By the way, they are adjacent to each other is not very tight, in the center remains a small gap. But thanks to the notches, the tails of the rivets are kept well.

There is an abundant amount of grease like lithol.

Central rod with spring:

There is a hexagonal axis on the back, which is inserted and clamped into the screwdriver. It is attached to the body, apparently through the bearing, as it rotates smoothly, but a little tight. The Chinese have not forgotten the grease here either.

Smoothly move from theory to practice. In order to check the “tool” in the case, I found two types of rivets, with a diameter of 4.8mm and 3.2mm. The most simple, aluminum, which can be purchased at almost any hardware store.

Nozzle work is not difficult, I will tell about itin more detail. First you need to choose a replaceable nozzle suitable for our rivets. Install it with the supplied key. Next, install the adapter's hex tail in the screwdriver and clamp it in the chuck. At this stage, the preparation of the tool itself is completed. It looks like the whole thing in the collection:

Next we take the parts that we want between us.rivet, for example, I took two pieces of tin 0.5 mm thick each. At the attachment point, it is necessary to make a hole with a diameter slightly larger than that of the rivet, in order for it to enter freely. I made it with a 5mm drill (4.8mm rivet).

Insert it into the hole with onehand, and tail in zaklepochnik. But before inserting the rivet tail into the adapter, it is necessary to switch the screwdriver to the unscrewing mode, turn it on and wait until we hear clear clicks. Only after that proceed to the riveting. We switch from the mode of loosening, ie, working counterclockwise to the opposite - clockwise. We wait until the tail comes off - and it's ready.
The result of the work can be seen below. On the back of the fungus is formed (in this case, I put the puck, but you can certainly do without it). Pull back is not possible, only drill.

To extract the remaining tail in the nozzle fromused rivet, again switch the screwdriver to the mode of unscrewing. We are waiting until you hear a familiar click. Then we just take out the tail and throw it away)).

Under the spoiler, I added another example of work, but with a rivet with a diameter of 3.2 mm and without using an additional washer.
Another example

In conclusion, summarize. The adapter will undoubtedly be useful to those who carry out large amounts of work on riveting. The process is faster and spends less human resources, unlike the manual tool. Of course, you can’t do without a screwdriver, but you’ll need it anyway for drilling holes. There are no special claims on the quality of the workmanship, it is made entirely of metal, everything inside is as it should be abundantly lubricated. Does not take a lot of place, is small-sized. But the main minus for me, which I noticed during use, is mandatory work with both hands. One has to hold the handle of the zaklepochnik, and the second “twist” the screwdriver. Well, the rest of the thing is interesting and useful in the economy.
