Today on the review is a novelty, the Bluboo Dual smartphone. Its main feature is the presence of two cameras at the back, thanks to which you can get pictures with the bokeh effect (blurring the background). Also, the novelty received a 5.5-inch FullHD matrix from Sharp, 2.5D 4th generation Gorilla Glass with an oleophobic coating, a fingerprint scanner, a 3000mah battery and a 7000-series aircraft aluminum case. And all this at a price of less than $ 100! It sounds just great ... but is everything really good or are there any nuances? We'll figure out!

The colors at the moment are only 3: black, gold and pink gold. In my opinion, there is not enough gray and silver colors. You can evaluate the color options on the video.
PACKING AND COMPLETE SET
The smartphone comes in a black cardboard box with the Bluboo logo.
On the back of the box are the main technical specifications:
The kit is standard: a warranty card, an instruction manual, a clip for a SIM card slot, a charger and a micro-USB cable.
Charger with output characteristics: 5V, 1.5A. Not Quick Charge, of course, but earlier on Bluboo smartphones, the chargers were 1A. So it’s already better.
DESIGN AND ERGONOMICS
The smartphone is medium in size for a device with5.5-inch diagonal. One hand can be used, but not to say that it is convenient. However, like any other smartphone with this display size. The body design is non-separable.
The assembly of the smartphone is excellent, the body is non-separable. Nothing backlash, no creaks. And I really liked the look of Bluboo Dual. It looks much more expensive than its real value.
On the front panel there are: an event indicator, a proximity sensor, an ambient light sensor, a selfie camera and a speaker. There are no touch buttons on the case; they are displayed on the screen.
On the back are two cameras, a flash andFingerprint's scanner. Camera lenses protrude slightly above the surface of the housing. The back cover is made of aviation aluminum of the 7000th series, and the upper and lower parts are plastic.
On the right side edge is locatedcombined slot for SIM cards / memory cards. It is possible to simultaneously use two SIM cards or one SIM card and a micro-SD memory card. SIM card format: micro-SIM and nano-SIM.
The slot is taken with a paper clip that comes with the smartphone.
On the left side face are: volume rocker and power button.
At the top end is a 3.5mm jack.
The lower edge contains a micro-usb port, a speaker (left) and a microphone (right).
Measured device dimensions: 150.9 * 76.4 * 8 mm
In the hand, the smartphone does not feel heavy or light, just right.
Measured Weight: 162 grams
Bluboo Dual has a 5.5-inch screenSharp production with a two-layer touch panel, OGS technology is applied. Full HD display resolution. Contrast ratio is 1400: 1. Slightly above the market average. On top of the screen is covered with protective glass 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4th generation with an oleophobic coating.
The display has good color reproduction and a margin of brightness, viewing angles are close to 180 degrees, while the colors are not distorted.
The supply of brightness is sufficient. In direct sunlight, the picture remains readable.
The camera did not focus on what was needed ... but the picture was interesting)
And here is a better shot
An oleophobic coating is present, water droplets do not spread on the glass under mechanical stress. Glass is more difficult to stain and easier to clean than ordinary glass. The finger glides on the surface perfectly.
The display is sensitive enough, they manage touse even with regular gloves. It’s still impossible to type the text correctly (not 100% reading of touches), but you can answer the call without taking off your gloves or read messages without problems. Manages to use a smartphone with wet hands, the screen responds to touch.
The manufacturer announced a touch screen for 10 touches
I did a multi-touch test and got only 3 points of touch ... it surprised me ... It turned out that it was just a three-finger screenshot function, the system did not forcibly detect more than 3 touches.
After I unchecked this function, everything became as expected: 10 simultaneous touches
The Bluboo Dual smartphone is running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. There is no pre-installed Chinese software.
Gestures are supported for quick access to a number of functions. Three-finger screen shots are quite a convenient thing, and everyone can find useful chips to his own liking. Fortunately, there are a lot of them.
The scanner also has great functionality.fingerprint. I personally use a short press on the scanner to move backward or hold my finger on the scanner to return to the desktop. Here, too, everyone can customize actions for themselves to play movies or music, to answer calls, etc.
There is a "super-energy-saving mode", whichmodifies and simplifies the entire menu, the battery runs down in this mode really slower. The smartphone automatically offers to turn it on when the battery charge is 15% or it can be activated forcibly.
The quad-core is responsible for the operation of the deviceMediaTek MT6737T 64-bit processor with a frequency of 1.5 GHz (“T” means the overclocked version of the base model). ARM Mali-T720 with a frequency of 650 MHz is responsible for the graphics. Installed 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. There is support for Micro SD memory cards up to 256 GB.
When the device starts up, the user has access to: 11.18Gb of permanent memory and 1.1 GB of free memory remains.
The smartphone supports the OTG function, so you can connect a USB flash drive, mouse, etc.
The processor itself is not a gaming one. You can easily play simple games, but you won’t be able to play World of Tanks Blitz or Asphalt 8 with good graphics, the number of fps will be at a very low level. For example, in tanks at the minimum settings, the number of fps barely reaches 30, on medium - around 15 ... well, there is no question about the maximum settings.
But in Hill Climb Racing or something similar to play - it is!
With long video or game playheats up very slightly, the maximum temperature in the warmest parts of the body is below average and barely reaches 30 degrees Celsius. This is a very low temperature compared to competitors.
In the Antutu test, the smartphone showed 40,345 parrots. In general, a good indicator for this processor. There is a noticeable difference in comparison with the regular version of the MediaTek MT6737 processor, which is gaining about 30,000 parrots into the antitude.
Epic Citadel Test
GPS was tested using the popular GPS Test app, as well as in the car using Yandex Navigator. Satellites are located almost instantly and very much, it pleased.
There are no problems with Wi-fi either, access points are fast, the connection is stable. In the screenshots: the signal level through the wall and at a distance of one and a half meters from the signal source.
GSM-communication works stably at all frequencies:2G, 3G, 4G. There was no reason to drop off the signal or jump from 4G to 3G. The interlocutor is heard normally and he does not have problems with the perception of your speech.
Bluetooth works without question. The smartphone finds other devices quite quickly.
The main feature of this model was the availabilitydual camera, consisting of a 13-megapixel main (Sony IMX135 with aperture F2.0) and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. Thanks to the presence of two cameras at the back, you can take pictures with a bokeh effect (blur the background).
Bokeh (from jap. ?? boke - “blurry”, “fuzzy”) - a term that appeared in Russian in the late 1990s and describes the subjective artistic merits of the part of the image that turned out to be out of focus on the photograph. In many images, the background is blurred by the photographer intentionally, to visually highlight the main subject.
Well, it would be foolish to believe that buying a smartphonefor less than $ 100, you will get a truly top-end camera that can compete with DSLRs) It is reasonable to compare the pictures taken on this unit with cameras of devices of the same price range. Yes, there are two cameras, but this was done more to draw attention to the new product, and just to be in trend in 2017)) A two-megapixel camera will give a small plus in shooting, but you should not count on a huge difference in the quality of photos.
Pictures in my opinion with good naturalthe lighting is pretty good, like a smartphone for $ 95. Photos have a lot of details, colors are transmitted adequately, autofocus works quickly. The only thing to complain about is the not very wide dynamic range. In terms of photo quality, I think this smartphone can compete with Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime, and even surpass it in some components.
It is possible to take panoramic pictures

A separate topic for conversation, SLR mode for shooting with the effect of blurring the background. On advertising renders, everything looks adorable by itself.
In practice, get a good shot with the effectbokeh is not an easy task. You have to sweat so that the frame comes out exactly the way you intended it. Most often, either the entire background is not blurred, or the blur also falls on a part of the main subject.

Bluboo Dual, iPhone 7 Plus and Huawei P9 SLR Video Comparison
The video is recorded in 1080p, which is very cool for a budget smartphone. Autofocus is working correctly. The videos are of decent quality. Video example: yadi.sk/i/vgVXESgR3C5f78
Selfie camera received an 8 megapixel module from an unknownmanufacturer. Images are darkened with a lot of noise and are not encouraging color reproduction. There’s a frustration here, of course ... For those who like to make "selfies" this smartphone is clearly not suitable. In Bluboo Picasso, for example, the front camera shoots much better.
There are many settings for face correction ... but in my opinion they will not particularly help this camera module)
Although the video seems to be something)

According to the manufacturer, the smartphone has a 3000 mah battery manufactured by SONY.
When charging the device, the power supply produces a voltage of 5.37V, 1.63A current.
The entire charging process took 2 hours. When the device was fully charged, the following numbers flaunted on the tester:
From experience of use I can say that thisa smartphone with confidence is enough for a day's work, even with fairly active use. With a moderate operating mode, Bluboo Dual can stretch up to 2 days.
The scanner of this device is one of the mainadvantages of the device, so I decided to allocate it even in a separate subsection. It works more than stable, the probability of failure is extremely small. The finger can be applied from any side, the speed of unlocking the device from the sleep state is 1-1.5 seconds. If the device is turned on, then the operation occurs almost instantly. The scanner works even if the finger is wet, although in this situation there are rare misfires. It is possible to attach up to 5 fingerprints to the phone.
The sound from the external speaker is slightly below averagevolume. After turning on the BesLoudness speaker sound enhancement function, the maximum volume is slightly increased. In terms of sound quality, nothing special stands out. The speaker is generally comparable with a number of other budget smartphones.
Sound meter volume measurement:
But the sound in the headphones unexpectedly pleased. Music plays with dignity not only for the state employee, but also for the smartphone. I used Xiaomi Piston 2 and Meizu HD-50 headphones for the test.
I used the built-in utilities to improve the sound, they really make the sound more voluminous and bass. There are modes for movies and for music.
Bluboo Dual Disassembly
A smartphone is definitely worth the money and evenmore! Yes, there were some minuses ... But for $ 95, Bluboo Dual pleases with its design, build quality, display, excellent fingerprint scanner, and OTG. The dual camera gives good pictures, the smartphone is also good in sound with headphones. The touch screen supports 10 simultaneous touches. The display can be used with wet hands and even with ordinary gloves. The external speaker is a little upset, it is not as loud as we would like. Pictures in SLR mode (with the effect of blurring the background) are not obtained as we would like. The company still needs to work hard on this functionality in order to bring it to mind. Blurring is not the whole background, then the background along with the main subject of the photo. Here, of course, the result also depends on the evenness of the hands)) But I speak for the average average user who is used to taking pictures on auto-settings. The MediaTek MT6737T processor will not allow you to comfortably play Blitz tanks or a comparable toy on schedule; it is rather weak for such games.
Bluboo Dual is arguably the best smartphone company withwhich I dealt with. I would only advise adding body color options, dark gray and silver would be welcome. It is more than competitive in its price segment and I think many buyers will like it.
Most recently, the Oukitel U20 Plus review appeared on the music, which is a copy of Bluboo Dual (or vice versa), only in a different case: redlightgreen.org/blog/aliexpress/49247.html
In my opinion, Bluboo has a number of undeniable advantages, although the price of these devices is the same! The main advantages of Dual over the U20 Plus can be seen in the video:
Let's summarize the main pros and cons of the device.
- The price, $ 95 for this unit, I consider a very affordable price
- Great design and build quality
- Responsive and vibrant 10-touch SHARP display
- The fingerprint scanner works clearly
- The camera takes good pictures in auto mode
- Good sound in the headphones
- Successful shots with the background blur effect are not so easy to obtain (SLR mode needs to be improved)
- Selfie camera will not please the quality of fans to make “selfies”
- non-gaming processor
- Not the loudest external speaker
- The control buttons are displayed
That's all for me! Until new reviews!
