Overview of a very good unprofessional (!) Sewing machine with two speeds, backlight, pedal and mains power. More details under the cut.
A sewing machine is very useful and necessary ineveryday tool that makes life easier for the hostess. So our mistress (mother) asked me to find some sort of small, not bulky and convenient sewing machine on the Internet for infrequent home sewing. Therefore, everything that will be written furtherimplies the use of a machine not in a professional textile factory, but in household use by people who do not have special skills in this craft, therefore, a sewing machine machine may seem like a funny and useless toy, so you can not read it further and do not bother yourself malicious comments at the end. Well, all the others whom she interested, I beg you.
Ali does not have a large selection of inexpensive sewingcars, I would even say - there are only two of them (the rest are either very expensive, or vice versa very cheap and seemingly low-quality): the one that I have in the review and similar, but with some kind of handle in the back. I liked this one more, so I chose it.
The parcel was delivered for a standard period of time - within a month, packaging, also, without frills, everything came safe and sound.
Weight: 1.2 kg
Length: 20 cm
Width: 10 cm
Height: 19 cm
Maximum thickness of stitched fabric: 5 mm
Stitch Length: 2.5mm
On the seller’s website, an assortment of both cars andThe components are huge. This machine, also, was in several versions (without pedal, without power supply, etc.), which determines the price. I chose the most complete set for me with instructions, a pedal, mains power and some small components in the form of several spools of thread, special scissors, a ruler and a seam ripper.
The power supply has such characteristics
and a thick plug like from an old charge on Nokia (although I'm not 100% sure about this)
The pedal is nothing special: a small rectangle with rounded edges
and a plug very similar to 3.5 minijack from ordinary headphones (maybe this is it)
The length of the cord of both the pedal and the power supply is about one and a half meters, respectively, without any problems it falls to the floor (when the machine is on the table) without tension.
The machine is small, so it does not take up much space on the desktop.
There is a recess in the lower left so that it is convenient to stitch circumferentially connected fabrics, such as a sleeve from a shirt or trouser leg
Next (if you look clockwise) is the main working surface, under which there is a spool of thread underneath, and all this is closed by a translucent plastic plug
Here, of course, there are runners, a needle with adjustable length and the possibility of replacement, as well as the element responsible for the movement of stitched fabric
A little, but very sharp, cutting element is located just above and to the left of the working surface.
On the back side (relative to the photograph of the general view of the machine) there is a lever responsible for raising / lowering the needle with runners to pull out or press the stitched fabric
At the very top of the machine there is a metal retractable pin for a spool of thread
which serves either for one of the variations of the setting of the spool when sewing, or for winding from a spare spool of thread on an empty spool
And just below the metal pin, on the front side, is the path of the thread to the needle and the spool itself, from which the threads are taken
The front right side has function buttons
The first one is responsible for the backlight. I can’t say that the backlight is very bright, but a small part near the needle highlights well. I don’t think that there are people who sew in the dark (meaning the presence of a more powerful illuminator), so this additional light will not be superfluous, the photo of the backlight is made in complete darkness
The second button is ON / OFF (if there is no pedal), and the third button switches the speed (high / low).
On the starboard side, at the top, there is a rotational element for manually raising the needle, and in the center of this rotator there is a plastic pin for rewinding the threads (the process is shown above)
At the very bottom right are 2 inputs: for the pedal and for the power supply
And a small drawing from the instructions that describes the “path” of the thread into the needle is threaded from left to right
In general, there is nothing special in the operation of this machineno, everything is standard: we put the thread in the needle, put the fabric, lower the skids, press the button (or pedal) and it went. For clarity, I made a short video (not of very good quality) with an uncharged machine solely for readers to understand the general process (who is completely unaware) and to understand the process of work of my particular instance. I can say that the machine works quite noisily, but for me it is absolutely not critical.
In the video, I first started the machine in the standardmode by pressing the pedal. Then I chose the second mode (slow) and at the end I started the machine from the button. You can see that the machine did not have 2 modes, but 3. For an unknown reason to me, the machine works more slowly from the pedal than from the button on the case + the slowest mode announced earlier, as a result, there are three modes =)
The machine can also work from 4 fingerbatteries that are installed in the bottom. How much time this work will be, what kind of thrust and sewing speed will be - I don’t know and there is no desire to check, it was for this that the version of the machine with a power supply was immediately selected, because, most likely, it will be possible to get high-quality sewing speed from batteries very difficult due to lack of power.
The result and quality of sewing
The front side of the seam (white thread)
Wrong side of the seam (with white thread)
The seam turns out high-quality, uniform, withoutpuffs and loosening. True, I got a little crooked, but this is due to lack of experience and because I did not control the movement of the line, but let it go by chance, because at the same time taking pictures. I also noticed that at the lowest speed, the seam starts to mow, it goes at a slight angle, so it is best to use the maximum speed.
In general, the machine and I, especially my mother are satisfied. This is quite a good sewing machine for everyday sewing, which takes up little space, but successfully copes with its work. Perhaps we did not expect anything more from her, which is why she satisfied all our needs. Of course, to take or not to take a typewriter is everyone’s decision, but I did not regret that I purchased it.
