Hello! As promised in the review about the manual coffee machine, I publish a review about the everyday device with which I start my day. Perhaps this is the most important thing for me in the kitchen. Despite the simplicity of the design, perhaps this is one of the most interesting inventions in the field of coffee preparation.
Meet Aeropress.
Wiki tells us that AeroPress is a device forinstant classic black coffee and espresso at home. Designed in 2005 by American Alan Adler and manufactured by Aerobie inc.
It should be noted that the device has become so popular that since 2008 unofficial AeroPress world championships have been held.
In some ways, the method of preparation resembles in the French press, but the taste of coffee is more interesting in my opinion. And the process itself is much simpler.

so that I have not saved everything from the kit. And practice has shown that the press itself with a filter is usually enough. Sometimes you need a funnel for cooking in dishes with a narrow neck.

A little bit about the filter. I bought a stainless steel filter separately, now the seller is completing it with an aeropress, though with a smaller mesh size. Also included are paper filters. I recommend trying this and that, and it will be decided which suits you best. Some complained of a metallic taste, I don’t feel like that. I use paper filters when I need to cook several servings. It’s easier, you don’t have to wash and just throw out the paper filter with the used coffee, rinse the aeropress slightly and brew a new one.

The filter is installed in a plastic mesh base with a diameter of 68 mm.

If you plan to use dishes with a narrower neck, a funnel with a diameter of 47.5 mm is included.

After installing the filter you selected (do not forget to moisten the paper one first) in the base, wind it onto the flask and put ground coffee there.
At the expense of grinding coffee. There are options, a lot depends on the type of filter, the size of its cells, but in any case is larger than for the Turks. Under my metal filter I use grinding for espresso. The quantity also depends on the type of coffee you are making. There are also options: from double espresso to light Americano. I put 1.5 teaspoons in 200 ml.

We fill it with hot water, the recommended water temperature is 90 °. Naturally, we pour water under your container for coffee, I have 200 ml.

Further, there is also one trick. Coffee should be stirred in a flask. And not only its strength, but also its saturation depends on how long you interfere with it. For Americano, this is about 5 seconds of stirring. I love stronger, I interfere for 10 seconds. Everything is also individual here, you yourself must choose your taste. Yes, and coffee is different. Some varieties produce espresso in 5 seconds, others in 15 light Americano. Also with saturation.

If on the contrary, it’s so fast that you didn’t even have time to bother, it means either a very rough grinding, or you have 1 paper filter and it can’t cope (put 2-3 then), do not forget to moisten them in advance.

As you can see, despite the seemingly simple design, such a great potential and such various cooking options. No wonder they arranged championships on it))
I even find it difficult to list the pros and cons. Probably for me there is only one minus - there is no foam.
The manufacturer provides four advantages of this device:
1. The best taste through the use of "ideal water temperature and pressure."
2. The completeness of the extraction of taste and aroma from raw materials (compared with filter coffee makers).
3. The absence of sediment and impurities.
4. The speed of preparation (a cup of coffee per minute).
And I completely agree with them. I can add the reliability of the polypropylene construction, unpretentiousness in use.
You can find many ways on the at the airport. For example, there is a way when coffee is poured and, without stirring, the piston is inserted, the aeropress is turned over, placed on the piston and insisted for 30-60 seconds, and then it is only squeezed out.
I have a Krups coffee machine, I have a good ceramic Turk, a French press, but for a number of reasons I chose an air press, it suits me more than that. But as they say, all the markers ...))
